HBO has found its Bristol Palin.

Melissa Farman has been cast to play the pregnant teenage daughter of 2008 Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin in the HBO original film “Game Change,” based on the book by journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. “Game Change” chronicles the 2008 Presidential election, with special focus on and insider secrets from the doomed campaign of Republican nominee John McCain.

A relative newcomer, Farman has had a number of TV guest spots, including in “Lost” and “NCIS.” She has a history with HBO, starring in its Emmy Award-winning original movie “Temple Grandin” in 2010. She joins a cast that already features Ed Harris as John McCain and Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin, amongst others.

It was also announced on Tuesday that Larry Sullivan, of “CSI” fame, will play Palin aide Chris Edwards, while Jamey Sheridan, of “Trauma, will play McCain speechwriter Mark Salter.

Those involved in the real life campaign are less than pleased about the movie. Writing for The Daily Beast that the book relied on interviews from misinformed, disgruntled former staffers, Meghan McCain said that, “I expect my family and Sarah Palin to be nothing short of crucified.”

In an earlier interview with Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin herself said, “I think I’ll just grit my teeth and bear whatever comes what may with that movie.”

HBO will soon be airing “Too Big To Fail,” a film based on the financial crisis that exploded near the end of the 2008 campaign.
