Tim Tebow had a solid, if unspectacular debut as a Bronco on Sunday. The first round pick and NFL celebrity was 8-13 for 105 yards and a running touchdown against the Bengals’ third-string defense.
His ho-hum performance, however, didn’t keep the media from fawning over him.
According to several reporters’ tweets, at least two members of the media asked Tebow for his autograph.
As Fanhouse points out, this is not the first time the media has been accused of falling victim to Tebow-mania.
Nor is this the first time Tebow’s on-the-field exploits have failed to live up to his off-the-field hype. The first-round pick is expected to start the season as a third-stringer, but has already led the NFL in jersey sales, and signed an endorsement deal with Jockey underwear.
